Egypt and Morocco will compete for bronze medals in the third-place playoff at the Olympics, which will take place at the Stade de la Beaujoire – Louis Fonteneau on Thursday, 8 August.
After losing in the semi-finals to France and Spain, respectively, these two African football powers are determined to win a medal at the Olympics.
Egypt defender Omar Fayed will miss Thursday’s match due to suspension after receiving a red card in their semi-final defeat to France. Fayed might be replaced as the central defender by Ahmed Eid or Mohamed Tarek.
In the semi-final match against Spain in Marseille, Morocco took an early lead but lost twice in the last half hour. You won’t see many lineup changes from Moroccan head coach Tarik Sektioui since the team has been consistent throughout the Olympics.
