The PSG vs Istanbul match referee could face a disqualification for at least 10 matches

The reserve referee of the match Paris Saint-Germain against Istanbul Bashakshehir Sebastian Coltescu, could be suspended for ten matches for racist conduct, reports The Times.

Match officials are subject to the UEFA’s disciplinary rules and could be punished with a 10-match minimum suspension for any demonstration of racism.

Sebastian Coltescu had previously responded to accusations of racism. The incident happened during the sixth round of the Champions League group stage matches. Supposedly, the reserve referee Sebastian Coltescu called the Istanbul assistant coach Pierre Webo “the black one”. Pierre Webo and the forward of Turkish club Demba Ba did not like it.

Later, in protest against a racist insult, the players of the Turkish team refused to return to the field, and the match had finished on December 9. Istanbul Basaksehir confirmed that the players refused to continue the match due to offensive comments on the part of the fourth official.
